Eve Myles (born 26 July 1978) is a Welsh actress. She graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama back in 2000. Right after that, she started killin’ it as Ceri Lewis in the Welsh drama series “Belonging” until it wrapped up in 2009. Myles also had some early TV gigs like “Tales from Pleasure Beach” in 2001 and “Colditz” in 2003. But it was her role as Gwyneth, the servant girl, in the “Doctor Who” episode “The Unquiet Dead” in 2005 that really put her on the map.
Her appearance in “Doctor Who” led to her snagging a major role in the sci-fi spin-off series “Torchwood”, where she played Gwen Cooper from 2006 to 2011. She nailed it! She even won a Bafta Cymru award for Best Actress in 2007 for her work in “Torchwood”. Myles even came back to voice Gwen in some Torchwood Radio Plays and the Torchwood (“Big Finish” series) in 2015. She’s been slayin’ it on TV with appearances in “Little Dorrit” in 2008, the premiere episode of “Merlin” in 2008, and the drama series “Frankie” in 2013 where she played the lead role.
In 2014, Myles joined the cast of the crime drama series “Broadchurch” for its second series, playing the character Claire Ripley. And let’s not forget about her voice acting skills! In 2011, she lent her voice to one of the main characters in the video game “Dragon Age II”.
Myles won an Ian Charleson Award in 2004 for her performances in Royal Shakespeare Company productions of Titus Andronicus and The Taming of the Shrew. She also rocked it in Henry IV, Part I and II at the National Theatre in 2004, and she played Emma in the first UK run of Zach Braff’s play All New People in 2012.
