Julia Duffy, born June 27, 1951, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is an American actress best known for her role as Stephanie Vanderkellen on Newhart (1983–90), earning seven Emmy nominations and a 1988 Golden Globe nomination, plus three Viewers for Quality Television awards. She also played Maggie Campbell on Baby Talk (1991) and Allison Sugarbaker on Designing Women (1991–92).
