Meghan Elizabeth Trainor (born December 22, 1993) is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer from Nantucket, Massachusetts. Trainor was writin’, recordin’, performin’, and producin’ her own albums between the ages of 15 and 17. In 2011, she signed a publishing deal with Big Yellow Dog Music and started her career as a songwriter.

After signin’ a record deal with Epic Records in 2014, Trainor blew up with the release of her debut studio album, Title (2015). The album went straight to #1 on the US Billboard 200, sold over one million copies in the US, and had three top 10 singles: “All About That Bass,” “Lips Are Movin,” and “Like I’m Gonna Lose You.” Her second album, Thank You, dropped in 2016, with the lead single “No” peakin’ at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Meghan’s music is heavily influenced by the ’50s and ’60s, and she’s known for her retro style aesthetic. Her lyrics often touch on modern womanhood, body image, and empowerment. She’s won several awards and nominations, including a Grammy, Breakthrough Artist of the Year from the Music Business Association, and two Billboard Music Awards.
