Sophie Dahl, born Sophie Holloway on September 15, 1977, in London, is an English author and former fashion model. She debuted as a model at London Fashion Week in 1997, discovered by Vogue stylist Isabella Blow, and signed with Storm Model Agency, working with Versace, Alexander McQueen, DKNY, and others. As an author, she wrote the novella The Man with the Dancing Eyes (2003), the novel Playing With the Grown-ups (2008), and the cookbook Miss Dahl’s Voluptuous Delights (2010), which inspired the BBC 2 series The Delicious Miss Dahl.
Daughter of actor Julian Holloway and writer Tessa Dahl, she’s the granddaughter of children’s author Roald Dahl and actress Patricia Neal, and was the inspiration for Sophie in Roald Dahl’s The BFG. She’s married to singer Jamie Cullum.
